alpine v12

im running an alpine v12 in my car and its been fine for ages but recently i have no sound coming out of my speakers when i turn the head unit on so i had a look at the wiring all fine ive found the problem and its something to do with the remote lead from the headunit because if i just run a 12v to the amp remote terminal from the battery it works fine but if i use the 12v remote lead from the head unit the amp wont come on even though its showing its powered up anyone have any ideas on this

try checking you have a good connection behind the head unit, quite a common fault, usually works its way loose
