Alpine

Just had an Alpine unit fitted with an adaptor for steering wheel controls. On radio all controls are woking, but on CD or iPod function the scroller is not. Halfords have said that this is right because of the software or something. Anybody know if this is right or wether they are just being awkward? just seems pretty bad for £70 adaptor i had to buy to get the steering wheel controls working. Cheers

Well i bought a standard one, went to get it fitted and they said it wont work , you need a proper Alpine one and that was £70. Then not all the controls even work so dont know what to do :S

you want one to do the display or just work stalk controls?

well fitting the head unit sorts the display and everything...i just want to be able to change track whilst listening my ipod using the steering wheel controls, but they saying that i cant do that

thats correct as its integrating 2 systems to do it,as far as i know theres no way to get it to do both,which alpine unit?

its the Alpine CDE-9871RH. Im really happy with everything except the controls, is there anythig i can do or shall i just leave it?

the alpine lead is the only one thatll work with that as the standard leads dont due to it being a different fitting cos its a halfords only model
