Alternative Dash Display

Removed my Old Philips Standard Renault Stereo and im not bothered about using the controls on the stalk,

Question is can i get the Display to show more info than the temp and time,
example can i get just Renault on the LCD or something like it 172 cup etc etc
now im sure i'v heard people mention this before but cannot find anything on the forum about this subject, i'm sure there is and its just me being a :clown:

any help would be gratefully received

Yeah if you are good with electronics anything is posible, something like a programmable 555 type chip would work.

Yeh with me being a Novice with electronics i was kinda hoping there was something already on the market

I don't think i've seen anything on the market that can do that unfortunatly. It's a good idea - maybe you could get it to show things like oil pressure and temperature or the like? (obviously with an oil temp/pressure sender on a sandwich plate)
There is a way of doing it, but my knowledge/expertise aren't upto it mate. You need an electronic engineer or a comupter programmer - you need someone who can right to an eprom chip, then you need some "flashy" circuitry to interface with the ribbon feed off the back of the display.
