Am a little sad but it seems stupid

Had my 172 for a year and 5 days and love the car to bits.only just turned 20 so fairly lucky to own such a car. But before i owned this a had a mark2 ph1 1.2 rn which i owned for exactly two years.Now i think it was modded tastefully except for gray 182 replica stripes.Well anyway even though i own such a nicer more resonsive, more luxury car, i still miss my first car.When it was possible to get the 172 i couldn't wait to get rid of it and jump into the pleasures that my 172 brings. Am not saying i dont want my 172 but feel sad i dont own my 1.2 anymore. is anyone the same or does someone need to give me a slap?

We still miss David's blue 1.2 occasionally but we love his 172 so it cheers us up right away. Just think how someone else is really happy with your old car and you can move on in yours knowing she is safe in good hands.

well a slap may pull you out of it but I think most people miss there 1st cars as there are lots of memories. My sis used to work at bp and they gave her a video for training. It had a sequence where they sqashed a similar car to hers at the time and she cried and said she can't bare thinking that will happen to her car if I mention it to her now she gets embarrased and denies it ever happened.

see I miss my old bike it got nicked out of the shed at night along with several others insurance paid up and got a better bike but still miffed about it as it was my bike and I liked it. It was red and my new one is silver just not the same.

ok .................... nice comparison hehe , ppl do seem to attached to material things rather easily , myself included .

It worked out well though as Davids car is silver with red colour coding and my bike is silver and his is red so when they are on the roof rack they go well with the car his old bike was yellow and silver just would not have worked.

Bike is the closest comparison I could think of If I said I miss my little ponies that would have just been daft and untrue

dont think i could ever sell mine,first car that ive had since i was 16, spent £3,000 on getting it just the way i want it (and it still looks standard LOL) i could get another car but dont think i could sell mine!!

Totally feel for you dude. I got my Dynamique when my ex and I got together. Loved modding it and sourcing 172 bits and peices. Ex and I split up and I got my 172 Cup about 3 months after (me being 20, so in your situation). Totally miss it. Worst part is, Inverness is such a small place, so I see it kicking about all the time with some old woman. At least it's being looked after (unless there's some kind of secret underground OAP street racing going on).

Yeah there is a lot of stuff being moved about at the mo the mods have obviously not eaten there shreddies yet.

I cried about my bike too sad thing is I hardly ever rode it it was the principle some nasty person/people (they were never caught) went into My Shed and are now riding about on my bike.

I totally know what you mean, i had that with my old cars.
I used to love my saxo vtr - it was black with black 206 gti nimrods - i sold it to get a 106 gti.. i missed the saxo that much that i sold the 106 gti to get another saxo vtr - big power differences !

but i shook myself out of it and got the clio 172 cup ! never looked back

Nah you don't need a slap. I think there's probably a lot of people on here who are quite attached to their cars, people that take pride in them.

I miss my previous car (discounting the bloody Astra I had for 5 months between that and my Clio) - it was only a Punto Sporting 1.2, but it was MINE! I owned it for about 5 years and was sad to see it go. But, moving on to better things always makes up for it :evil:
