Am I being lazy? Alpine Steering Wheel Stalk Adapter

I'm upgrading my standard headunit to an Alpine, while i'm at it i'm considering getting the steering wheel stalk adapter, has anyone done it and is it worth it?
Or is it just me being lazy because i can't be bothered to move my arm down to the stereo and a waste of money?

for what it costs most will do it, even me so much easier changing tracks n volume from stalk then head unit

Yeah I have a idax305, I'm sure you can get a little box for like £30 is this true anyone?

It's handy, also if you get the right one, your display will say Renault instead of just being blank, an although I've noticed a little lag in mine, it beats pissing about with the stereo all the time.
