Amp and Sub not working!!!

HI all,

A few weeks ago my amp light came on red instead of green which i put down to not enough power supply and was going to buy a power cap, i came to have a look today just to see if by any chance the light had changed green and it has but......the subs still arent working! Anyone had this sort of problem before that can help me?

remote cable maybe loose, rcas

have you checked all connections behind the headunit

if u have a voltmeter thing u can check which wires are giving the amp power and which arent

also double check the earth is ok

red light id guess meant the amp went into protection, id take it to a specialist so they can give it a good checking over

possible that a power surge has damaged some of the internal components

cheers lads, i have checked the connections on the amp and sub but not yet on the headunit as once you get my head unit out its hard to put it back due to all the wires

all voltage and earth are ok if light is on!!! as bryan said its a protection light! u may have a speaker wire shorted to chassis somewhere or a speaker short circuit! remove sub and try diff speaker see if it works. it sounds exactly what happened to mine! output mosfet transistors are fooked on mine! best take it to ice experts mate! or get a diagram and check it yourself if ya competant?

ye am considering taking it to a specialist but am also considering a new install so i might have a crack myself..wish me luck all

hate to say, if the light is green and the subs are still not working they might be screwed...got to a local ice store theyll be able to check this out for you...

have you checked the fuses? When i blew a fuse, my protection light was red.
