The bonnet release wire hole in the passenger footwell. It comes out behind the sound-proofing

You can squeeze up to 4awg cable through there, though I would have thought it will be easier to push the end through from the inside, unless you want to try and push a cars length of wire through from the engine bay!!

Also, undo the coolant resrvoir (2 bolts) as it will make it much easier to get your arm down there and get the wire up, and unclip the power steering reservoir it might give you a bit more room.

Be warned though, you have to force your hand down there. A few scratches will ensue.

Lying in the passenger footwell look up and you'll see the grommet with the bonnet release cable coming through.
Punch a hole in this and shove the cable through the hole you've just made, then with the coolant reservior removed get your hand behind the sound proofing and reach for the cable poking through its about 12" down and about 6" to the right of the coolant bottle.

The bonnet release cable is one of the two going across the top of the suspension turret in the top right of the pic, think it'll be the one thats clipped down.

edit: Just noticed its a 1.2 so theres no soundproofing, if you follow the cable you should be able to see the grommet.

I've read on talkaudio that someone did it, i'd imagine it'll need a lot of lube and brute force. I'm not convinced it'll fit though myself.

I'm going to use that in a sig I think LOL :D

One method I heard was to cut the rubber grommet away and just leave the metal hole but I wouldn't fancy chafing a 0-gauge wire direct from the battery... :S lol

The other question is how exactly are you supposed to get *another* run of 0-gauge back to the battery-to-body earthing point??

Thanks guy, I found a grommet in the passenger footwell... I am getting wiring-kit tommrow for my new amp.. but grommet is already too thin for thin wire.. how can it possible to push amp lead into grommet?

That's the one we are on about. It should go through with some force. Fairy Liquid round the cable helps and push it through with a bit of wire coat hanger with a loop bent on the end.

Someone else also suggested making a small cut in each side of the rubber grommet and use some needle nose pliers to prise it apart while you push the cable through. Not tried it personally though.

Yep, just stab something through. I used my pen knife and waggled it around to open the hole up a bit, then it took me 30 mins of fighting to get it through. Should be easier with 8awg though.

I swear it didn't sound that fruity in my head when I wrote it, but then my heads probably used to it  :D.
