Amp Wiring connectors

Ok the red things in that pic, when you put them on the end of wires are you then supposed to crush them with pliers to make them stay on the wires? I asked because that's how sum1 I know did mine, and it didnt seem to sork that great.

you're not supposed to use pliers, this is a common mistake, that will flatten the connector, you're supposed to use crimers, this will force the middle down and grip the cable inside

i'd get some new connectors if i was you and redo it with the correct tools

So you only squash the middle of them flat correct?

yes, that's correct, if you look at them, there is a split in the metal, this is where you crush it

Ok I'm looking at one now, I see the split - so you use the crimpers to crush them lengthways?

yer i got the top ones cost somet like 2-3 quid , n makes life alot easy strippin wires and crimpin

i used pliers to do mine and they are fine

but i suppose i know what i'm doing lol

it yer using pliers , use the sire cutter part , but add a nail (or somet) at the tip (grip part) so they dont cut through it

i usually use mole grips, i also usually trap at least one finger in them....lol
