Amp Wiring

I have rockford fosgate 551x amp which when you bridge the 4 channels into 2 it gives an output power of 275w RMS @ 4ohms, on my subwoofer i have twin 4ohm voice coils, am i right in thinking i can take the two channels from the amp directly into the two inputs of the sub?

Thanks

P.s. the sub is 500w RMS

yes that would be fine if it has a low pass filter on both channels which i doubt it has. it should have 1 for the rear channel

if u wire the sub in parrallel u will get a 2ohm load , i think the rockford is 2 ohm stabel and u will still get the same power as u would from running both channels

u could then use the front channels to run ur fronts

neil

It has High pass, low pass and all pass on front and rear channels (i love rf :) ) so that should work ok then i aint going to blow anything?

should be ok then , i would still just use the rear channel 2 make the most out of the amp, matchin the gains using both channels would be hard without using a scope
