so i want 2 buy an amp but wen i look on the net i see 2 channel 4 channel mono channel amps! what does it all mean! i just want an amp what do i buy! lol
mono - good for running 1 sub - has one channel therefore only one thing can be run from this
mono bridgable - good for running 2 subs - has two channels so two things can be run from this but can also use just one of the channels (hense mono)
2 channel - good for running a set of comps - has 2 channels, similar to mono bridgable
4 channel - good for running a set of comps & coaxials
5/6 channel - i thin you get the picture, lol
kk
dink means either get a mono amp (1 channel) for the sub & then get a 2 channel amp for the speakers (as there are 2 speakers)
OR
get 1 amp, in this case a 4 channel ( 1 channel for the sub & other two for the speakers) in this case the sub will have to run at 4ohm
what is your budget for the amp(s), sub & speakers?? we may be able to help you out this way, & recommend some good stuff
they all have mono amps, 12" sub, wiring kit & box
then you just need a set of comps & an amp to power it (with the comps, an amp isnt essential as you can run them straight from the headunit, but with an amp, it makes it sound much better)
the infinity would be the second choice for me, but there isnt realy that much between the JBL package & the infinity
abit off the topic, but are infinity & JBL related?? i heard this ages ago from a friend but thought nothing of it, then on the JBL website, i saw alot of infinity installs, so is this true??
a m8 of mine was trying to recommend me some subs (when i knew nothing about ICE) & was saying JBL are amazin. when i told him i liked the look of the infinity subs (PERFECT 12 VQ) he laughed at me & said that infinity were rubish, lol, dont you just love people like that
cheers dunnaz i had a look but only thing bothering me is that i thought u cudnt run comps and a sub frm a 2 channel amp? (1 channel for sub leavign only 1 for comps wen u need 2?)

ye ur right u cnt, i was thinking the £150 was for the amp & sub
imo it is alot more efficient to run comps off their own amp really, overheating can occur if you have too many channels at near max power.
the infinity & jbl are great packages
you cud do what chromeclio said & get the jbl 4 channel instead of the mono in the package
if you contact caraudiosecurity & tell them that you want the 4 channel instead of the mono, they will do this no problem, might cost you an extra £15 at a guess, worth doing suppose on your budget
if you have a 4 channel amp running 1 sub & comps at 75% - 85% max power then it would surely get hotter thus decreasing it performance (it may even cut out due to the over heating - ive seen it happen)
