Had this the other day here:

Exporting documents for use in InDesign CS2 (Save Back)
Save Backwards allows InDesign CS2 users to open InDesign CS3 documents that have been exported to the InDesign Interchange (.inx) format. To open these .inx files in InDesign CS2, you also need to first install the Adobe InDesign CS2 4.0.5 update. You can obtain this update by choosing Help > Updates, and then following the prompts in the Adobe Update Manager.

To export an InDesign Interchange file from InDesign CS3, please do the following:
1. Open or create a file in InDesign CS3.
2. Choose File > Export.
2. In the Export dialog box, select InDesign Interchange from the File Type menu (on Windows) or Formats menu (on Mac OS).
3. Click Save.

use PDF's :)

PDFs wont open in indesign...inx is the only way and works a treat

The job is off to the printers - the best way to supply it is via PDF end of. No need pissing around packaging it as old files, making sure you got all the fonts and images aswell as possible problems opening the file at the other end.

PDF workflow people its the future ;)

You can text amend PDF's ;) and if need more changes than that then the designer should do the changes and bill their client? ideally a printer wants a finished ready to go file.

The question was answered earlier on though - he also mentioned it was going to the printers which I recommended the best way to do that. You can also place PDF's in indesign - he didn't say it needed to be editable :)

Problem solved! Was my first go at doing artwork in indesign (using self learning!) so i was getting it checked by someone who knows there stuff before i created PDF's.
