Annoying Noise at over 100

Right then, anyone else got or ever had this problem, ive got a 04 plate 182 and everytime i go above about 105 there is a really annoying and quite loud as what can only be described as like a whistling noise???

Lol, at that speed wind noise is never going to be quiet. Its more than likely the wipers or the wing mirrors and there aint a lot you can do apart from travel below an instant ban.

i get a VERY high pitched noisy whitsle coming form the trim near the rear view mirror on windy days at high speed. like a high pitch squel/whine.

is that what you mean?

I have noticed the noise at lower speeds on Windy days too, someone on here had it sorted by getting the windscreen resealed.

Thats one of them. Also, I had a badly fitted windscreen that whistled like nuts the faster you go. Tape the hole up, or what i do is stick my finger over it.

mine is definetely not the wing mirror, i can press the trim near the rear view mirror to change the tone of the squeal lol

Had the same noise doing about 120 found out it was a screw in the back tyre so took it down to the speed limit and got the problem fix next day

I get this between 100 -110 in the 182 ..It never done it at 1st...then suddenly theres a really really loud high pitch shrill ..thought it was the wipers and it def sounds like its comming from the passenger side of the car ???????????

mine used to get that kind of noise too. although it used to happen when going above 80. i soon found that for me it was the wind on either the wipers or going into the scuttle pannel. would only happen sometimes for me in the winter when very windy (i live by the sea side so strong winds here are very common)

Hey.. sounds exactly the same as mine..!!
Eventually had a mate take the trim apart whilst i was driving, to try and find out what it is.. findings weren't conclusive, but kinda going with the dodgy windscreen fitment at the mo, as there was quite a draft coming fron in there. Need to do some more tests..

yeah, i just end up hitting the trim in a vain attempt to make it stop lol .

dunno what else to do realy as i can't see renault wanting to fix it if i tell them when it happens.

Naturally i found out this fault when i was going to germany last year and would never dream of breaking a national speed limit.

OMG! Im fcuked if i'd start taking the trim off my mates car at over 100mph just to find a noise!! Imagine where that screwdriver would end up!!!!!

I had my car for 15 months before it started doing it. I had been over a ton loads of times with no problems. Then it just started earlier this year and still does it now. Comes in at just under 100 and it ain't from the mirror - its coming from like the centre of the dash/bottom of the windscreen direciton. Dunno if its just the way the air is flowing through the vents or what.

You were in Germany too eh..!?.. Nice country..
Told my local dealer, where i bought it new, and as i thought.. were unable to do much about it, as obviously could re-create the noise within the spead limits of this country.

i get a noise from the passenger side that seems to be near the windscreen. It sounds like air rushing through the vents but why its only doing it in one place :X

Mines just started doing it, nothing to do with normal squeaks and rattles, it’s a 04 182. So it made it to over 2 years without ever having the problem. You will know if you have the problem it starts at just over 100mph and its loud enough to be heard over the stereo and made me slow down because something sounds wrong. . . Turned stereo and climate off. Couldn’t work out where it was coming from still. It was a windy day so will re test on a still day.

Has anyone found a solution?

I had this problem. Took ages to sort. I discovered that if i put pressure on the panel where the interior light is, it fixes it. I took it to the dealer and they re-sealed the windscreen. Doesnt do it anymore now. Might be worth looking at.
