annoying symbol in the corner of my TV??

I have a sony LCD telly.

In the top left, there is a symbol that I just cannot get rid of. Itsays AV1 and some symbol underneath....

Can anyone tell me how to get rid???

Do you have a '?' symbol in green on the remote? Works on my Sony.

There's usually a button on the remote that turns the function on to show what channel its on. Try pressing a few and see if it goes off.

yeh defo a button on the remote , i have asony and iirc its on the right next the the circular ring button towards the top of the remote..

have this anoying one at work sometimes (tv salesman) its either the top left button, or one of the row of 4 under the navigation. I cant remember what they call it though.

What tv is it? d3000/s3000? or a slightly older model?

Believe it or not, a mate tried for ages to get a symbol switched off in the corner of his new plasma. He tried every button combinations and all the menus for about an hour before he realised it was a sticker.

Not sure how true it was, something he came out with in the pub the day he'd bought it. Sounds about right for him though.
