Hi there. I know there's a few threads out there already and I've read a fair chunk of them but there's a few questions I need answering so this seemed the best approach.
I have a 182. I've decided it's time to improve upon some of the creature comforts. I'm pretty good with tech and electronics but I'm totally out of my depth when it comes to car audio.
The car came with an uprated head unit courtesy of the previous owner, an Apline iDA-X001 but the previous owner only did half a job. The steering stalk and display are unconnected and the CD changer is still under the passenger seat and is unusable courtesy of the headunit. It also didn't come with the CD tray anyway so it's coming out.
So first. Speakers! I have a budget of about £150 and it would be nice to do the front and rears. I'd like a bit more clarity and depth in the car and something that doesn't rattle itself to death if I turn up the volume a bit on a trance track.
I don't want my neck hairs tickled with bass, I do not want a sub in the boot. I use this car as my daily, I cannot afford the space and a sub just seems a bit... pikey.
I read Pioneer do a set specifically for Renaults but the general vibe is they sound crap.

I read that most 5" speakers should fit the car no problem but is there anything anybody could recommend specifically? And more importantly if I replace the speakers, what do I do with the dashboard tweeters? I've got no issue swapping my tweeters as I've had the dash off before. Easy job.
Second - I don't care too much about the display as my satnav lives there but say I wanted the stalk working, what parts would I require and does anybody even still sell them anymore? I read they were totally discontinued these days.
I had a read of this thread here but I'm struggling to find the recommended parts. Anybody have any ideas?

Or would it be easier just to spend an extra £100 or so and get a new, updated headunit?
Cheers for any help,
Mike
