I know there's tons of these threads on here but this question is quite specific.
Very occasionally my 182 refuses to start. I get the stop light come on and it will turn over for a second or two and then stop. I do eventually get it going but the last two times its happened it took me ages to get it going. If I turn the ignition on without trying to start it I get some clicking/whirring noises? Yesterday I turned ignition on, left all the dash warning lights to go off (except the stop light obviously) I then waited about ten seconds turned ignition off and on the next next turn the stop light went off and it started. I have also tried using the spare key but it makes no difference at all.
It might just be a coincidence but its has happened twice now while the car was parked on a sloping driveway?
Anyway my main question is, will a fault code stay on even after the car starts so I can drive it and get it diagnosed? Or would I have to get someone round the next time it refuses to start?
This has happened once while my wife was using the car (rare occurrence) and I got a proper load of ear hole torture because of it so I want to get it sorted once and for all.
Sorry for the long winded description of the problem, I'm just trying to provide as much detail as possible.
Ronald.
