Another exhaust question

Hi guys, im thinkin of making some mild engine mods to my 182. Those being an aftermarket exhaust, decat, RS tuner and improved induction.

If i had the standard exhaust decatted, would i then be able to fit an aftermarket exhause later? Is it worth decatting without changing the rest of the exhaust?

Also, i need recommendations of what to buy, i want a system that isnt gonna deafen me. Can anyone recommend a nice system that isnt too loud (milltek?) and what i can do to keep the volume to a minimum with a decat?

janspeed silenced decat with btb exhaust should do you nicely. You can fit decat without the centre and back sections and will still see gains, but personally would do it all in one go or cat back first

Yeah....... why? Ive done loads of searching, and seen loads of moaning, but not the answer i was looking for lol. So suggesting a search isnt gon help me this time.

Ironically its the people who have 15,000 posts who always seem to moan about people creating new discussions.

Theduckeatspork - do you have any experience of the Janspeed silecenced decat? is it decent? As i understand it, ive got no chance of getting a BTB, so really, its down to the Milltek or K-Tec stealth.

My only experiece of it is throguh the forum. It always gets good write up. No such thing as a K-Tec stealth for the 182 and the miltek isnt quiet. Yozzasports quiet one mght be an option if you cant get the BTB

As i have owned a clio for about 3 weeks, and dont know all the terminology yet, i thought that stealth refered to the fact that it wouldnt be too loud.

Obviously by power of deduction, in a *slaps head* moment, i realise it refers to the fact that on a 172, the tail pipe is hidden behind the bumper.

In another thread you said you wouldnt touch Milltek stuff? How come? I thought they were meant to be one of the higher quality brands.

So, can anyone recommend a good quality, not too noisy, exhaust? What is the KTR/Janspeed stuff like?

i've seen too many broken milteks to put me off (albeit not on clios) and yes they have a warranty etc, but still a quality stainless exhaust shouldn't break! all the ones i've seen have cracked round the welds = bad IMO
