So last night (or the night before?? Can’t remember, I’m very very tired) I did a 6.5 hour trip in the truck and SHE’S HOME!!

so so happy. Got a bit of a list to get through to make it how I want, but I’m happy and that’s all I care about lately.

Track days, tip runs, dropping my boy off with his bikes, General van duties.
I’ve got a little bit of work to do on it in Jan, but I’ll be doing a track day in it before the end of Jan 2020, I’ve ot done one this month and I’ve got withdrawal symptoms. 😂

So, did Oulton Park in the Van Last month.

I’m mental busy at work just now so no time to be taking multiple days off at the minute so long distance track days will have to be put on the back burner. But in true Daniel style, I can’t go a month without a track day so this coming Monday I’m staying local and going to Combe.

Anyone else from here booked on??

Fabulous! I bet there were a few people in sports saloons surprised to have a van right up their trumpet

Another month means another trackday! March saw us at Castle Combe. This is my local and only 15/20 minutes from my front door.

Was a fantastic day. Clear blue skies all morning and pissing down in the PM. It’s like two different circuits when that happens!

Not got the pics yet but here’s a vid my dad took. Took me 2 laps to ‘persuade’ the clio and MX5 at the back to let me past, then 3 laps sat on the other Clio’s back bumper before I gave up and came in. It’s a real shame when people don’t let you past, it ruins the session. I just don’t understand it.

Was a great day though. Hopefully Thruxton Next month! 🤞🤞

Not a lot to report. We’ve just cancelled 2 track days which is a bummer but hey ho, life goes on.
I cleaned it today, first clean for a very very long time and it’s my daily so it needed it big time! Used a litre of fallout remover! 😂
Next week I’m going to sort the stereo out because it’s s**t.

Just got to wait for the tracks to open back up now.

so….

my driver lost a big bunch of my keys. On were the keys to my VXR8, my Trafic van, my Kangoo van, my house keys, my parents house keys, my side gate and most importantly my bloody work keys.

about £1,100 later I have replaced many locks and keys (and got rid of the driver!) but the Kangoo sat at the back of our unit until I could find a new lock set, ECU, UCH etc etc.

I bought two sets (one as a spare Incase this happens again!) one from a fat child in Yorkshire and another set from someone else (who’s name escapes me but he’s bound to be a more upstanding member of society than the Yorkshire child)

fast forward 3 months or so and my long suffering mate @lemonnobby (AKA Paul) who is an absolute LEGEND of a Renault Specialist here in Bristol decided he’d like to help me get the Kanga-182 back on the road. So last Monday he came over to drill the steering lock out so I could at least move it.
Then tonight I used our C1 courtesy car to ram it up on to the truck - no damage to either vehicle - result! Once I’ve had my tea and bathed the kids I’ll drop it up to him.

so the next time I see it, it will be working, serviced, and a new MOT and that’s my winter runaround sorted.

once it’s all up together though it will be going to Infinity Exhausts up the road and having a decent system made. The one on it is absolute garbage and needs to go in the bin.

so yeah, just a waiting game now.

Still got this! Still smashing the miles on it. I’ve done nearly 200 in it today and a mate is now using it to do 150 miles. still been 100% reliable and comfy.
im going to change the oil to 10w40 as it’s using a bit. Not a lot, about half a litre every 1500 miles but it’s old and it’s done 106k so something a bit thicker may make it happier.

decided to try hankook V12 Evo’s as my all round tyres - I usually run rainsports - and they’re really good. I’m impressed with them and they don’t seem to be wearing half as quick as the rainsports which was my motivator to try something else.
im still on DS2500 pads and to be honest, with the likelihood that this will never see the track again, I’ll probably go for the same again when they’re due for a change as they won’t fade on the road no matter how much of a Dick I’m being behind the wheel.

No immediate plans other than to fix the rear speakers in permanently and probably fit a small sub as it will make the long commute a bit more pleasurable as I do love my music.

We’ve just used it as a guinea pig to try out the new (not yet finished) photo spot at work so thought I’d post it up.

I bloody love this van Daniel! I’d love to find a well sorted 1*2 van
Mechanically this is well sorted, and it has no side doors which is very rare, but cosmetically it’s rough.
well, I say rough, it’s an 18 year old commercial vehicle. It’s probably quite tidy tbf. But it’s no show queen.
