so….
my driver lost a big bunch of my keys. On were the keys to my VXR8, my Trafic van, my Kangoo van, my house keys, my parents house keys, my side gate and most importantly my bloody work keys.
about £1,100 later I have replaced many locks and keys (and got rid of the driver!) but the Kangoo sat at the back of our unit until I could find a new lock set, ECU, UCH etc etc.
I bought two sets (one as a spare Incase this happens again!) one from a fat child in Yorkshire and another set from someone else (who’s name escapes me but he’s bound to be a more upstanding member of society than the Yorkshire child)
fast forward 3 months or so and my long suffering mate
@lemonnobby (AKA Paul) who is an absolute LEGEND of a Renault Specialist here in Bristol decided he’d like to help me get the Kanga-182 back on the road. So last Monday he came over to drill the steering lock out so I could at least move it.
Then tonight I used our C1 courtesy car to ram it up on to the truck - no damage to either vehicle - result! Once I’ve had my tea and bathed the kids I’ll drop it up to him.
so the next time I see it, it will be working, serviced, and a new MOT and that’s my winter runaround sorted.
once it’s all up together though it will be going to Infinity Exhausts up the road and having a decent system made. The one on it is absolute garbage and needs to go in the bin.
so yeah, just a waiting game now.
