Another MPG thread

Well yes another MPG thread but since owning the cup and sorting the speedo sensor im getting an average of 38.9 on the trip computer. Even when i give it a poke from time to time.

I would just like to say how impressed i am, as my old megane coupe 1.6 16v i would be lucky to see 35mpg. I just look forward to the months ahead once the *new quick car* affect wears off I may even see better results.

Are you sure that isn't the average MPH reading, if the 172 has that like the 200 does (it caught me out)? What kind of driving/roads?

I get 38 on twisty A roads with hardly any stopping, a motorway run on the M25 through the 50mph roadworks saw me at 42mpg but around town I get about 33.

reset your trip driving around town, it wont be 33

I understand the trip isn't 100% accurate but I have reset it a few times either way the petrol in the tank seems to last me

i get 37.9mpg i mainly do motorway driving no matter what i do i cant get it above that reading.

Just come from owning a Scooby and on my way to Northwest performance for my belts done I got 44MPG – cracking cars are these 172s

reset your trip driving around town, it wont be 33

I do reset it, it gets 33. I don't know if you've ever owned one but they are economical cars for their engine size. I'm not driving like your granny to get that, I just drive smart and don't speed up unnecessarily when I need to stop a few feet down the road.

i did 70 miles on the motor way going between 60 and 75 and averaged 46.1 mpg but in town today im getting about 32-38 mpg

i went from teeside to rochdale and back in the 172 cup and averaged 42.3mpg

My C2 vts averages about 30mpg But I do give it some stick sometimes. I reckon these 172/182's computers lie about their mpg xD

I went to wales at the weekend and got 39.5mpg overall, even when it was at 23mpg on the way their due to sitting in traffic 45 mins.

I averaged an indicated 45mpg for a 280 mile round trip this weekend. 99% motorway keeping it at 70 most of the time. Very happy with that! It was running on sainsburys super unleaded.
