Another oil question....

  R35 GTR
What is the difference between max and minimum on the dipstick?

I am going to be trying to record my oil usage and would like to convert it to litre by measuring the dipstick.

I'm sure I have a little leak.

YEah it could be actually, 2l sounds a bit high to me now, Valvers are only 1.1 and willys 1.4

Change oil now and keep an eye on it.

Oil goes back very quickly even with a change due to residue.

ok, I'll pop to garage tomorrow. I have washers, oil filter and oil. could do it myself, but got no jack.

Should i use a different grade oil? Currently stocked up with fully synthetic 5w40.

5w40 is perfectly fine.

You might be consuming oil in vapour form due to high oil temps, bore sprays and a useless breather system.

Mine doesn't seem to change colour very quickly at all. In fact its done about 2-3k since the last change and the oil still looks the colour of honey.

The wonders of V-power maybe..

Mine is same

Nice golden colour after nearly a few thousand miles :)

Always ran on V Power too :)

Would the V Power honestly help ? ?

Yeah i'd reckon so. Mines ran on V-power or Optimax since i bought the car nearly 2 years ago and i've never known the oil to get very dirty at all....fair enough i change it every 8k but still, less combustion residue means cleaner oil.
