2003 Clio 172
So, I had my motor mapped for a bit on the Clio 172 8200_5411_F4R736_RON98_1110.cal map as recommended by Henk but I pulled it because I noticed a few oddities, I just wanted to check if anyone else noted similar.
1.) On cold start, the car is just fine.....however, when warm, after a blip of the throttle the engine will rev up to say 2k rpm, down and then up to 2k rpm again before settling. Quite annoying. Its nothing hardware related as it doesnt happen on the standard map at all.
2. ) I have noted that with the new map on, my engine sounds really coarse.....standard map its pretty mute until around 4k rpm when the intake noise makes itself heard but with the performance map, its sounds....well, rough from about 2k rpm
Granted, the benefits are there, smooth start and idle, smoother response etc.
I just wanted to see what others experiences are or of i have a problem.
At this rate I am going to return the car to the standard map as the idle thing is bloody annoying.
Sounds like a s**t fiesta with an Idle Control valve problem
