Anti corrosion warranty

Now i know clios have a 12 year anti corrosion warranty , and my car has been serviced every year so not missed one (though not all main dealer ) i have noticed on the rear arches that there is some bubbling on the leading edge and its comming from under the paint which is original , not chipped and intact ?

i have to take it in for the bonnet recall , but what are the chances of Renault coming good on the arch rust (want it dealt with properly now i have spotted it )

Pretty sure you have to have a 12 monthly check by renault and have had them tick your service record in order for a claim to stand.

Not quite J but they can use it as get out.

They should fix it tbh but previous paint? Minute chipping, rear arches are obviously quite bad for that.

Just be fair with him and give the impression you're a car man that knows at least a bit of what he's talking about.

They are friendly enough locally and have had it in before to regas the aircon .... they know we apreciate the car for what it is and have seen what else we drive as have popped round in them .... its original paint I know where its been painted and its not the quaters ... will have a friendly chat with them and see what renault say

The Anti corrosion inspection " has " to be carried out by the Renault Network at the mileages stated in the servicing booklet and warranty booklet .

The part in bold type is lifted straight out of the warranty booklet !

It also has to be down to either manufacturing or material fault or a problem concerning application of anti corrosion products to vehicle metalwork .

In other words , everytime you've had your car serviced at a Renault dealership , they'll have ticked the box in the service booklet that the anti corrosion inspection was done and they were satisfied that the bodywork and subframe were in good condition . If you haven't had these inspections done at the service intervals stated and at a Renault dealership i doubt very much you have a leg to stand on imo . If they can wriggle out of it they will .

The car needs to have full (100% full, never missed!) Renault main dealer service history for the 12 year anti corrosion warranty to be valid.

I know this because i've claimed before on my first ever clio.

Did the eu mot pass a ruling saying that as long as it had been serviced correctly by a vat registered garage then that was fine due to eu anti competitive laws

3 or 4 years ago ?

That's regarding the routine servicing, the bodywork will be covered but it HAS to be renault service history.

Yeah , you're right . But that was just for the servicing side of the car so your warranty wasn't affected . The anti corrosion warranty is a whole different thing though . As stated , it has to be carried out at the correct intervals by a Renault Network garage or your anti corrosion warranty is invalidated . Thats how they get you by the short and curlies .

looking at watchdog reports etc even getting a 4 year old car sorted is near impossible ...... oh well i'll ask who they use for bodywork and see what the cost is to have sorted , its only small but it will now bug me . i also have a small patch of clearcoat on the bonnet to sort .

To make you feel a little better. I had 2 passats fixed recently. 10 years old bootlid rot. Known issue right enough but still perforation.
