Any exhaust on a car illegal?

I'm not sure I agree when you say majority. I would say in my experience they in fortunately in the minority.

The problem is that most people's day to day interactions with the police are car related. Traffic officers are renowned for being over zealous shall we say.

The vast majority of good officers that get tarred with the same brush are hard working professional people who always go the extra mile to help the public.

I wasnt just referring to traffic police but I do accept that my own interactions with them might not be representative as such interactions have been fairly limited due to the fact that im a law abiding citizen generally when not in a car so its only when Ive been reporting crimes or caught criminals that I have held till the police get there etc that I have dealt with them much, and as such I could be wrong and it might only be for example 40% of them nationally that are oxygen thieves not 80% like it seems. Certainly a profession that seems to attract people who were bullied at school and out to get revenge though, lol

As you say though, traffic cops are particularly bad, there is no doubt about that at all. And that is a real shame as its the main way people meet the police, so a good way to generate hatred for the whole force just from those numpties.

Any deviation from the standard type approved specification of the vehicle is a potential problem mate so he sort of has a point but doesn't quite understand the finer details.
