ANY IDEAS?? Airbag light

Hi well on my last post I was struggling wirh my airbag light on! Well now I have the car code read and wondering if any1 has any idea wot 2 do nwxt!faults are - 068 front passenger thorax side airbag circuit permanent open circuit and -077 front driver thorax side airbag circuit permanent open circuit?? Any ideas??

Thorax are in the seat. Weird that both side have come up. Tried clearing them and seeing which one(s) come back?

Yea tryed but both come straight bk on?? Actually inside thw seats??

Yeah, thorax airbags are the ones in the side of the seat.

Can also be called torso airbags.

I have a clio cup and there are bo airbags in the seats?

I'd be checking the airbag ecu for a bent pin, if you have had it disconnected at all?

They would be separate pins though, so unlikely.

Well the ecu is obviously asking for a thorax airbag. Which you don't have.

I'd hazard a guess at the ecu needs reprogramming for seats with no thorax.

Just strange it's just happened.

What's the history with the light? Just came on randomly? Or?

No I brought the car like it just thought it was cuz the airbag was not switched on like a idiot I didnt think 2 look! Thinking about it wen I had a look at the ecu it had clio in marker on the ecu?? Maybe its been replaced? Surely from the factory they wudnt hav writing on it?

No it wouldn't have.

Probably a renparts item. Suggests you have a non cup ecu fitted.

Just need someone with clip to reprogram it dude.

Fred doesn't do airbag reconfigure apparently. Mick at diamond motors does. Or I do.'but your airbag ecu has been configured incorrectly, or had a replacement one that's not from a cup.

Well I've been reading that the ecu can be reprogrammed for no thorax, if you fit bucket seats etc, with none.

So yeah.

From that thread:
If you wish to remove your side airbags for aftermarket seats then you can either do as the above says regards sticking a fuse in the circuit or ask your local Renault dealer if they will adjust your cars airbags computer via there Clip laptops so that it thinks there isn't an airbag there (some of the the lower spec cars didn't have). However many dealers are will refuse to do this.
