Any one else had trouble with Liquid Yellow paint?

  Clio 200
I have a Nov 09 Clio 200 in Liquid Yellow and along one edge of the roof it is starting to turn green under the lacquer! It's not terribly noticeable but has definitely spread since I first noticed it about 4 weeks ago. Before I take it back to the dealer for inspection I thought I would ask whether anyone else has had or heard of paint defects on Liquid Yellow? I've owned the car from new.

It's a bit of a shame as taking it back is a real pain, in fact I was thinking of leaving it until it's first annual service is due in November given that it has a three year paint warranty. Mechanically the car has been perfect and overall I absolutely love it!

Cheers,
Neal.

First time i have heard of this happening where you say green under the clear coat is it actually the paint or is it possiably some kind of Tree or mould substance? 100% get it sorted asap under the paint warrenty if it is a paint defect mate as LY is a right pig to match! and renault will proberly try and blend rather than paint the whole roof. Where abouts are you located mate?

It's not as hard to blend as you think, blowing it in to the neighbouring panels and you'll NEVER notice the difference.

I've seen some that have a strange green granular undercoat but never more than a few tiny spots visible. Post up a pic

It's actually on the edge of the panel above the rear passenger side window where it meets the roof. The defect is a thin strip about 5cm long. At first I thought it was a scrape of some kind, but couldn't think how it could get scraped up there! Looking more closely it is definitely underneath the lacquer, it isn't external damage.

I'm based in Oxfordshire and the car was purchased from Perrys in Aylesbury. I'll give them a ring next week.

My LY looks greenish in some lights, there's obviously green in the paint. I've never noticed any defect under the clearcoat though.

Take it back to the dealers and see what they say, it should be under paint warranty shouldn't it?
