Any Tips for getting a deal from Reno

  Mondeo STTDCI

Right I want a 182 but not at list price.

Tips to go about it? Suited and booted or dress like a student?

Go in with a bag of cash (the full amount) any good?

Act arrogant and "ready to drive down to the Honda dealership at any minute"?

My plan of action was to ask to test drive it "properly" as I only got a wee run in it last time. Then sit down and simply ask him for his BEST price. When he gve me a figure I thought Id mention that other Renault Dealerships were doing better deals - courtesy of my Cliosport knowledge.

After his next price I thought Id throw in the importers - which of course hell laugh at and piss all over, and then I pull out Lloyds TSB Car Select and someone else who aint an importer and their deals.

Then finally hoping for a deal on Supaguard.

Any tips? Also could anyone who has bought a 182 or has ordered one PLEASE post the price they paid, whether it was bought on Reno Finance or not, and also where they purchased the car.

Many, Many thanks lads and lasses

Not sure I want to let everyone laugh at how much I paid for my 182 , but IMO you should be looking at low £13ks with both Cup options & metallic from an official Reno dealer.

I bought mine with a low-rate bank loan - usual affair of speaking to 3/4 local Reno dealers (over the phone, try and get the Sales Manager if poss) getting price down by playing them off against another and promising to place an order within the week if the deal was right.

Supaguard a waste of time IMO, unless you cant get something useful of out them (in the closing stages of a deal) like a free first service/tank of fuel etc...

Id say your best not signing that day just walk away with the best figures they give you. If they dont ring you back in a week then call them and say if you drop x of the deal price or give me somehting free then Ill sign and leave them with that.

I paid 13,000 with both options.

My dealer is going to fit my K tec Grilles and Silvervisions for free also, I know its only a half hour job, but seen as they do this type of thing all the time and have the correct tools, I thought I might aswell get them to do it for me.

I know the have a bonus of at least £800.00 to play with from list price.

You should walk in there and tell them that "such and such" have offered you #blank# for your car and said they will do you the 182 for #blank# can you beat it.

i paid 13k for 182 + both cup options and CD Changer (same price as metallic paint) from lloyds tsb carselect and i cant fault the service, they bend over backwards to sort things and deliver the car to you free.

Would recommend them to anybody, personally I would rather deal with them than a dealer.

dave182 - I will be mentioning Carselect to them and see what they have to say.

I want the car, metallic paint, both Cup options and Supaguard. All for 13k.

well how I got the best deal from renault was this....

Arrived in my dads porsche (before u say anything, it made me look like a serious buyer and not a FTW - f**king time waster! (sorry salesman talk ;)) hehe

anyways, got in there after obviously been there a few times already and told them I will sign today if you do this otherwise I aint buying, (But luckily I knew someone that worked there who told me out of work that this particular dealership aint doing too good and need to sell cars!)

So it was easy as that, i said i want the billabong pack freem i want tax free for a year, I want the best mats free, a full tank of petrol and a bouquet of flowers and she went upstairs, spoke to the sales manager and i got all of it no arguements!
