anybody traded their 182 for an r26???

right...i've had my 182 for nearly 3yrs now, got 38700 miles on the clock but in very good condition. i previously posted, i fancied a change to a r27.

i called into my local renault dealer yesterday and took a 197 out for a test drive. i have to say...it was seriously disappointing and as such would not be prepared to trade my 182 for an r27.

however,on opening negotiations, the dealer has offered me £7000 for my clio against a new r26 at 0% for 4yrs.

I have told the dealer that i would like at least 7.5k for the 182.

i know that maybe i should post this on meganesport.net, but was wondering if anyone on here has traded their 182 for an r26. if so, how much can i expect to negotiate of the list price of an r26? i reackon i can get the r26 for somewhere between £230-250 per month over the 4years.

it all depends on what the dealer can and is willing to offer! go in and test some other dealers out. i was seriously considering trading in my 182 for an r26 a couple of weeks back - got an excellent offer but would have been silly to take it (other commitments)

i was looking at taking it over 3 years with my car and some more £ their way!

well - I had a 172 but as close as possible to a 182!
Absolutely love the R26 - have done 4300 miles in less than 3 months - at least 3000 of whcih have purely been for fun (not work etc).
Only issue I have with it - uses loads of petrol! averaging about 24mpg compared to the clio on approx 35mpg. Managed to get 31.1 on the motorway a couple of days ago but that was with the cruise control on 84mph for about 100 miles.
Driving it though is great - I came into work this morning at approx 6.20am - gave it a quick blast on one section and actually said out loud - "quick car" and had a chuckle to myself.
I managed to get mine with a good discount - check out the renault sport forum - there are loads of dealers on there offering great discounts.

Only thing that has really pissed me off is the fact that white is now available as an option as well as gloss black wheels and full leather interior - all of which I would have ordered but never mind - mine is great anyway and Im kinda getting used to Renault doing that to every model they bring out - always a better one round the corner

id recommend the meggy based on the shot i had.

However 25mpg is the norm, so worth factoring that into things otherwise it will marr the ownership experience

they had a white one in the renault world series a few weeks ago with black wheels - looked amazing - would love one personally

I bought mine through an internet broker - Buymynewcar.co.uk but they have now gone bankrupt so cross them out! Didnt think mine was going to arrive but thankfully it did - I was looking around though just in case and even my local renault (cardiff) dropped the price down to £16800 which is bloody good! with the leather etc it would have been another £1000 more but would have leather door cards etc so would be that little bit more special - ill cope though - love the Recaros as they are

If i could get an r26 from my renault dealer for £16800 i would change it tomorrow. that is a wicked price, but for some reason i don't think my dealer would do it for that price!

I know - I miss it - personally I think my clio is the better looking car but thats only due to what I had done to it - The megane will get there!

If you are paying close to list price including your part ex, i would test drive all the other contenders in the class!

If you would have asked me a month ago what car do you want up to £20k i would have said the Megane in a second!

After test driving them , looking at resale value, build, dealers, ect, ect, i'm buying the Leon Cupra , i cant wait!!!! Lol

don't worry about what they are giving you for your p/x just find out what the cost to change will be, as they can mess about with all the figures to come up with a good deal

Spot on!

It's costing me £ 13.5k to change cars , including , paint £350, side skirts and spoiler £600 painted and fitted , Bluetooth £300, convenience pack £200

So i must of got £ 7.645 for the Clio on trade in , theres no way he gave me that, so he dropped the list price, or give the the options for free!

I was offered a brand new White R26 with Xenons leather pack, and ipod connection for 16,272.

I agree with you DNP, the 197 didn't do it for me either:dapprove:

I went from a FF172 to a 225 Trophy (so similar to 182 - R26 change, except for the LSD, lol) and I never looked back ! First time I took it for a test drive it blew the Clio away ! Plus being a turbo, you can map it for alot more hp than a n/a !

M8 me myself would'nt go from a silver 172 to that moter
I'd get a different moter altogether...

thats me though i have had Golfs, astra's,Rovers etc.
i like to expand and try different cars..
like when i have to give up my baby (172 cup)
i would'nt get a megane cup you getting me to close to what
i orignally had i go for something totally different ie Alfa etc...
each to there own though....

The Megane is a totally different car - completely different to drive and far quicker. I have also had numerous different cars - VW Corrado, 5 Gt Turbo, 205 1.9 Gti, XR2i, Golf, novas etc - went for the R26 as no other bigger Hot Hatch is all round as good imo. I would love a Porsche Boxster but have kids so 2 seaters are out, Golf GTi's are too common, Focus St's are both horrible and far too common, astra's are shite imo, Megane made perfect sense - is now 3 months old, has covered 4500 miles and no regrets at all about my choice - only regret is having to sell my 172 (wish I could afford both)
