Anybody use Kenwood DAB Headunit

  BG Clio 182
Im looking to replace the Renault fitted radio/CD with a DAB unit had a look at one at a local independent shop in town today, seems very nice i like the greater choice that DAB offers and the improved sound etc.. I see that it needs an aerial fitted inside to the windscreen, is that the only way it could be done could i not get the car's existing aerial upgraded???

This is the one ive been looking at:

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/...uctId_818311_langId_-1_categoryId_243051#tab1

When I worked at Halfords and fitted them, they came with a magnetic roof mounted aerial.
So I'd run the wire down the back of the car and then pop the new aerial out the top of the boot behind the existing aerial.
Obviously you'd have a tiny bit of wire showing where it came out onto the roof. But that was the best way we found of doing it.

Obviously if you wanted to you could replace the existing aerial. You'd have to completely remove the existing aerial and wire, and just run a new DAB Aerial and its cable down the same route. Would mean you'd lose analogue though if you ever wanted to change back.

Thanks for the reply i think for the moment im going to stick witha regular CD player for the moment. The range of DAB headunits is quite limited at the moment and quite expensive. I had been quoted a lot of money to get the Kenwood one fitted. And i can't justify it at the moment.
