Anybody used Autoglym Car Shampoo

  197
I've only ever used the Ag shampoo so can't really compare to any others, but it does a really good job for me anyway!
Seems like there is a huge difference in shampoo's from this thread.

^^^^^ Agree nowt wrong with AG shampoo...just doesnt foam enough. Born to be Mild doesnt foam up that much either...and neither does CG Maxi suds...although it does smell nice.

What's the big deal with it foaming anyway? What does foam do that makes the product better?
This is a genuine question. I've been reading the thread and don't understand what difference foam makes. I can still do my washing up perfectly fine when there aren't many bubbles in the sink, what difference does it make to a car?

I could well be corrected but the idea of foam is similar to that of snow foaming....the foam captures any small dust and "should" minimize scratching.

As said Dodo Juice, Born to be mild that doesnt foam up that much.

In reality I can't see it preventing scratching. Not when you're rubbing the dirt all over your car with the sponge / sheepskin / swans feather / giant panda skin / unicorn hide wash mit (or whatever the detailing geeks use) anyway.

But then... what do I know?

Ahhh haaa but thats what your missing...usually you would Snow Foam before hand to take off as much dirt as possible. Leaving you with minimal dirt for the shampoo/wash stage.

Its not preventing scratching...merely preventing it.

As said thats just my view I could be corrected :)

Eh?
You're not preventing scratching, you're just preventing it scratching?

I see what you're saying though. The snow foam brings as much of the loose dirt off as possible so that you've got less dirt to rub over the car with your wash mit? And the wash mit picks up the dirt and holds it rather than moving it around the car?

I'd say you're right. The difference with foam is negligable, just to some it makes for a more enjoyable experience, lol.

I found it okay, but prefer a shampoo with plenty of suds. Makes a great lube though (for
clay...).

I still like Megs Gold Class.

I also think AG Shampoo is good....correct it doesnt foam, it does its job though so I am happy....as long as you follow all the correct steps after, the finish should be great.
