Anyone able to tow me to GDI

Direct Line Breakdown have let me down in a harsh way, and will only pay for the first 10 miles of travel to a garage of my choice (cheers guys).

I was wondering if theres anyone in the Cambs area with a towing bar/vehicle who fancies earning a few quid taking a run to Essex and back?

Pleeeeeasee...

I really need this car back on the road before nx weekend (Thruxton).

I could take it elsewhere, but I dont want to.. Ive spoken to Andy a couple of times now, and he is a bloody nice chap and put me at ease straight away... something no garage has really done up til now.

or alternatively someone with an AA card to come and call them out for you after pushing your car to the side of the road and saying it broke down there? ;)

Relay
What is covered
Relay is an optional extra to Roadside Assistance available only to those who have paid the additional Relay subscription at least 24 hours before the breakdown occurred.

Relay is available if you are stranded on the highway more than 1/4 mile from home following a breakdown and the AA cannot arrange a local repair within a reasonable time.

Relay provides recovery of an immobilised vehicle (including a caravan or trailer which was on tow at the time), the driver and up to a maximum of seven passengers (see General Terms of Contract, Section 9h) to a single destination of your choice on the UK mainland or in Northern Ireland. If there are more people than the maximum allowed, the AA will seek to arrange, but will not pay for, their onward transportation.

Note
After your vehicle has been recovered, any subsequent repairs will be at your cost. It is also your responsibility to arrange and pay for the vehicles collection, should that be necessary.

So they might be able to just turn round and say, "Were taking it to Freds Garage down the road"?

LoL.. gotta push the f**ker over 1/4 mile away too!

Dont think home start is any good to me..

Home start
What is covered
Home Start is an optional extra available to those who have paid the additional subscription and provides access to assistance when your vehicle is immobilised following a breakdown or accident at or within 1/4 mile of your home address.

If, following a breakdown, a prompt local repair is not possible, your vehicle will be taken to the AAs choice of appropriate local repairer or, alternatively, to a destination of your choice, provided it is no further. It is then your responsibility to instruct the repairer to make any repairs required. Any contract for repair will be between you and the repairer, and it is your responsibility to pay them. The AA does not guarantee that any recovery to an appropriate local repairer will be within the opening hours of the repairer or that the repairer will be immediately available to undertake any required repair.

Just push it a 1/4 mile down the road mate, or if you use someone elses membership thats not registered to your address just push it out onto the road outside and dont go near your house while the AA are there.

im going to GDI on monday neil, if i got past you from manchester, ill attatch a rope to ya! Aslong as its not too long a journey?

Haha you know the ideal solution

I drive up to Cambs in another car and pick up an AA member from there, bring them back here.. sorted.
