i got told that a standard re-map will add maybe 5bhp onto it...so no point, but that you can get a custom re-map that will add up to 20/25 bhp, i got quoted £400 for this

What is power of the 1.2 as standard?

20bhp from a remap does seem a bit OTT.

The 1.3 8V Rallye does give 100bhp, but has a very good head/inlet design and only makes this power at 7250rpm

i've had a S1 106 rallye and there is nothing else like it.. light at a feather, unlike the clio, revs high as said and the power never drops off in any gear all the way into 5th and then its still screaming.. its also THE best car i've ever driven on the bends and would sh1te on most things.. the clio cups are very good but there just not as hardcore as the 106..

did no one see that program on SKY called revved up.. they had a 105 mg Zr or whatever.. it only made an extra 20/25 bhp after having an exhaust, filter, chip, AND headwork.. i think it cost 3k for it all:rofl:

well the one i was in cost 80 grand new, and had had £45,000 spent on it in modifications. Including an £8000 exhaust.

So not really fair to compare to a Clio 182 or any car within a normal budget!?!!?!? Still, must be an awesome car.

I'd still say it doesn't justify an argument against tuning a Clio 182!! lol ;)

I wouldnt bother, if you want a quick car, get a 172 or something dont f**k about with a 1.2 it isnt meant to be fast tbh...

Somebody took me in their S1 yesterday.

It scared the hell out of me - you can't believe they are a 1.3. They are just mental.

Your right. Anybody wanting a 182 can have mine. Or I'll lend you the money. If your under 20 yrs old, just don't bother with insurance... :banghead:

They're my sentiments exactly but in regards to the Series 2 106 Rallye. See the S2 Rallye was my first car and although i've had brief spells with other cars in between, i bought the Clio 172 Cup as a replacement for the Rallye. However the Cup doesn't come close in entertainment and hardcore rawness or even handling prowess as my Rallye did. I would certainly buy another S2 Rallye anyday, but with only around 500 produced its gonna be more and more difficult to find an unabused one...

Do it dude, when I had mine I got 6bhp from it and it felt better to drive! It was a chip and remap from hillpower. Sorry but if its your car and you want to do it, do it. Does it matter what other people think? Its good to get advice but when people say dont do it because of engine size it does my head in. It still increases your cars power! People that have seen, followed or been around my 1.2 when I had it will know how good it was. So what, it wont be as fast as a 182 but youll move on to better than that in time!

Thats gonna dominate my train of thought for a while now. A Rallye and a Cup? Ahaha...
I purchased my 172 Cup a week ago so i can't purchase it as quick as you might like but i'll certainly keep it in mind. Btw, PAS and Airbags?
