Anyone Fitted Drilled Brake Discs?

  Porsche, Caterham, Golf
Has anyone fitted Cross drilled discs to a 172?

If not anyone know who makes such an item? And where can I get them?

Cheers

Drilled disks can crack mate , thats why hardly anybody ever fits em . Go for standard disks or brembo . Or maybe some grooved ones but not drilled .

Try http://www.gsfcarparts.com/ for standard disks , same as the meganes , £27.50 each part number R60139 and i think you get CS discount from them as well so i heard. You could also try upgrading your pads , something like ebc greenstuff .part number on gsf is R64276FG

Or for brembo hc disks try

I managed to get front & rear grooved discs for my 172 Cup on EBay for £100 + post.
Stuck them on with a set of Tarox Corsa pads (£100) - need heated up before serious use but 100% better brakes since bedded them in. Lots of dust so far though but they handle serious use, enough to make the caliper paint bubble & smoke, with no fade at all.

^^^^ So your happy with the paint on your calipers , bubbling and smoking , lol ? I'd say if your calipers where getting that hot it won't be long before they fcuk up .

Try the greenstuff imo , hardly any brake dust at all compared to other pads , and the new v4 are supposed to be pretty good from cold .

drilled discs are not required on such a small light car.

go for some grooved items, from a decent brand.
