Iv had a vibration/judder from my 172 for a while now, mainly when turning, or over rough ground, there would be a nasty judder through the steering wheel, really put you off driving,and also when staionary would make a cracking noise, not too far from the noise the top mounts make, well i did the usual checks over and over, all bushes fine, my track rods and ends are new etc, until my tech noticed some slight movement in my steering rack as it was turned from left to right, so i ordered from renault new steering rack bushes, these come as new clamps and new bushes with nuts and bolts, and was a bit fiddly to fit but went on ok, and a week has passed including a track session at Combe and so far so good, no cracking noise, steering feels noticibly sharper and no vibration!
