Anyone gone from ph1 172 > Cup or vice versa?

Having a big dilemma at the moment, do I swap my ph1 172 for a ph2 cup?

There's + and - points for both and would like to hear from people who've made the switch, either way :)

:rasp: hows that milltek?!

I've gone from a Cup to a 182

Plus points.... aircon mmmmmmmm Thats abut it imo. It feels slower, 5k onwards its fine, but not as agressive as the cup imo. The cup is very hard to beat imo. Get one with aircon and your laughing imo

Performance-wise, I don't believe it would be worth the change, so I guess it's down to personal preference on looks and the fact that you'd be owning a newer car.

I personally prefer the look of the Mk1, but my second favourite is the Cup, so I wouldn't personally make the change but can understand those that want to.

Do it

IMHO the Mk 1 RS Clios don't look half as good as the Mk2s

Matter of personal preference though...performance wise there is b**ger all in it.

Yea i think Ads 172 and Niel are right theres so little between the 172,s performance wise

so unless you want a newer car i wouldnt bother

And some newer cars are often in worse condition as well so if your Mk1 is nice and tidy your probably best keeping it.

That's the thing, I've only recently spent a few quid on it to get it up to scratch, the interior is just about done with a retrimmed wheel and repainted silver door trim bits on their way soon.

The only thing I'd be getting out of it is a newer car with lower milage, and slightly better handling. If anything it'll be slower due to the few mods I've got currently.

I'm still not decided though, and until I get to speak to a certain someone about it who always puts me straight I really don't know :(

Mate at work thinks I'm mad to even think about it, he reckons waste of money lol.
