Anyone got a 182 on finance?

  R.I.P 182
I had the KA on finance, swapped for a mini before i paid first installment, price is now 270p/m, but insurance halved from the ZS..

Now, ive fallen in love with a RB 182ff and i really want it but its 340 a month.. worth it or not???

not worth that a month, I've got 2.5k to pay on a lcr (cash'd the rest) and well well under half 340p/m, that's outrageous for a Clio imo!

Got to agree tbh, 340 a month for a 182 is a lot of money. Finance company must be loving it!, stay with the mini in your situation.

well if you earn 250k p-a why do you need to finance it at all lol

You can't judge by that.

If it's 340 per month but it's paid off in a year then it's good going.

But if it's over 5 years and then you've got a 10k balloon payment then it's not so good!

Car finance can sometimes make sense but it's not worth sacrificing masses of disposable income for. I used to have a car loan, but these days I just bought the car, cash, which means that every spare penny on pay day can be saved towards a house, which to me is now more important.

lol @ rags ;)

Paul - insurance is what i paid for the ZS - 1200 but im looking for cheaper as we speak..

its expensive finance cause its paying off the finance for the mini then the clio's extra on top :(

(182 is 10k, but my cars worth 6k apparantly, but settlement figure on mini finance is 9k, so id be borrowing like 13k..) over 3yrs

  R.I.P 182
it is a loan for the finance on the mini, thats what would be paid off with the finance on the 182 lol

It sounds like it's spiralling out of control. Sell up, pay off, and get a mk5 ZS :)

Paying 9k for a 6k car? It's not good.

I can't believe the mini's only worth £6k.

What's market value on the autocar website (or whatever it is)?

If it's nearer £9k then sell it at that, pay off the finance, then just get a cheaper, older, still good condition 182!!

But you could get one for £8k? but get a personal loan at a cheaper rate than the £340 a month one! lol
Or just get an older car that's not silly money ;) lol :rasp:

Is 6k trade in?

They're making a fortune. Sell privately, pay finance, and then get sensible bank loan for 182? Or just save 5k and buy a 172.

wouldn't bother... youve not had the mini long so its just like sumping 3k in the bin... keep the mini for a bit longer. it will keep its current value for a while yet...

I definately want a racing blue 182 for my next car, love the mini to pieces but its not quick enough and every time i see a 182 i keep drooling.. test drove it today too and really made my mind up.. love it sooo much..

Will see how much mine's going for n see what they can do !

how old the mini an whats it got on the clock if its an earler one with higher mileage it could well be worth that i think you need to keep your feet on the ground pay your mini off enjoy it a bit longer they nice cars you could always give it more poke ;)

 your cute

how much would yours be worth privately? if they want to sell you the car they should give you a good price to sell you the 182..

this thread is a good example of how people create massive debt for themselves.

do not do it.

Im not sure private, Renault offered me 7k for it (after valuing it, sitting in it expecing it etc), mini said its worth 5k (yeah ok.... was looking at new minis so they obv want it to look bad, didnt even look at car) and carcraft (i know..) said that its worth 5800..

Might call Renault tomorrow and see what theyre offering they had a 21k 04 plate for 8k i think, and the one i test drove was an 05 plate, 5000 miles.. cheapo...

Racing blue 182s are gorgeous...lol

However don't put yourself in massive debt Donna, you're paying 13k for something worth 8k!!

Mine was 10.5k when it was 4 months old which I got a loan for, and it's costing me a bit less than £230 a month to pay back over 4 years. The total amount I'm paying back is less than 11k (the loan rate was really good at the time). I've had it for over 2 years now, so there is about 5k left to pay, but if I sold it I'd get about £8k for it - do you see the difference?

Hey Ali, yeah i understand, just wondered if it was worth the money that i was told it could be.. didnt know if it was good or way too expensive (i know im taking into account my past finances)..

Itll be my next car no doubt maybe wait a few years first, but i was still curious as if it was reasonable id do it as its by far a nicer car than the mini!

A 182 is worth every penny.

I pay about £200 a month for my finance which I've only just started so I have like £7800 left to pay off :(

But it's always worth looking around for finance rather than getting finance from a Renault dealer as renault finance is usually more as the dealer just a bit of commission from that on your behalf!

If you need any more advise just ask, cos I literally signed all the forms 1 week ago.

  R.I.P 182
Tim - Reno have cheaper 182s than this place i was looking at so im assuming the finance would be cheaper..

The reason its so much a month is that my mini is over 5yrs when i was informed that it was over 3 years, which is why its so expensive :(

Well I'd pay off your Mini finance for a bit longer, racing blue 182s will still be around when you want to buy one - and they'll be cheaper and so will your insurance :)

I'd never bother with finance again.

i sell car finance for a living, so i've seen some pretty sorry cases! If you are funding a 10k 182 for 13k and paying 340 per month, you want your f**king head looked at. I'm guessing you live at home and have nothing else to spend your money on??
If in 12 months time you get pregnant/in love/mortgaged up and you want to sell the 182, you will still have 13k outstanding (after interest) and the thing will be worth about 7, leaving you six grand up the spout as opposed to 3 which you were with the mini. It does not doesn't take a genius to work out you are being a Turd if you go ahead with this.

  No more clio's for me!
Speaking from experience...having brought a new car on finance and had loan for 3/4's of the trophy...don't do it!!

You only end up losing in the end, be it over a long period or in the short period if your plans change and you need to sell the car.

Think of the figures and the length of the finance...do you really want to be paying £340 p/m + insurance in a couple of years time??

Best is to save a bit of cash, not all of it for the value of the car, but save the majority! :D

its soo true. so many people living their life a monthly payment at a time for everything now. Whichever way you look at it you need to get in control of your desires and keep what you got for a little while. Very soon, you will see another car, and that 340 p mth finance will end up prob nearer 500 for something that is disproportionate to your monthly payment.

Keep the mini pay it off, move a bit forward. A 182 isnt the end of your motoring life. Aim higher. By the time u paid off your mini, you wont even look twice at a 182.

340 a mth is crippling. i only pay 550 rent... i couldn't sleep at night paying 340. i would want a 911 for 340 tbh.

for what i pay on my 197 i could have two for 340 a mth and have money left for fuel.

DO NOT DO IT!!

I swear the people who buy cars on finance must have a short circuit somewhere....it's money down the DRAIN!!

I had finance on my 172 and it was killing me, so I sold up, paid the finance off, bought a cheap 1.2 and now I'm debt free and saving up each month for a 182 in the future.
