having had a blast against one I don't agree... in fact I think they are vastly slower as at least the missus' 172 can keep me in sight, the 197 just got obliterated... horribly! Just my personal preference...

They are, we've had them side by side up to 100. Its not hard to believe :S . Stop living in the past.

I (FF 182) and a friend (197) went to Zolder few weeks ago. Side by side from 60mph - my limit. 197 was 2 cars behind me. He had 25 000 miles, I had 65 000 miles. I was at my limit and he couldn't get closer. Told me he was unable to drive faster. Is that possible?

We had one in Belgium (we know about) that was resent because it had only 175 hp.

They are very close. My 182 might have just shaded it, but people on here think the gap between the two is massive. Its not
