Anyone know how big the hole is on the gearbox for filling back up with fluid?

  Track 172 Cup
Just wondering as I was going to get some pipe to put on the end of my funnel so I can fill my gearbox up easier when I change the oil.

Thanks.

I cut a 1m length of garden hose and that was great , fits nicely into the gearbox filler. for the funnel end , dip the end of the hose into a cup of boiling water to soften the rubber and after a minute it should be easy to slide the funnel into it.
make sure you have a copper washer from renault for when you refit the drain plug.

What you need to do is go somewhere that sells hoses for washing machines.

It will be a hose with a plastic pipe on each end that's an L shape with a fitting.

Cut it off completely one side then cut the bottom of the L off the other.

You then have a hose with a plastic piece which fits straight in.

Cheers. Yeah I have just ordered 5 of those washers from Adam at Renault Wolverhampton better to have a few spare in the toolbox when they're only 32p lol

I also need to know the exact size. Best bet is to take the wing plug off and look at it.

I plan to add a tube connector that screws on and allows filling that way. Then that way I can have a permanent oil fill point up in engine bay. Ha

How will you know the level if you keep the fillip point screwed in?

Garden hose on a funnel works fine for me.

Think he means putting a hose into the filling point not the hole where it comes out when you have the correct level in the box. If you filled it up to the filling hole you would have overfilled it I'm guessing.

I thought it only had a drain plug hole and a filling hole??
have i missed something? you fill it until the fluid starts to come out of the filler hole ( the one where you remove the butterfly nut. )

Might be me that's missed it lol I'm yet to do the oil change on my gearbox and thought that there was another hole or something above the drain plug, I'm gonna put the 3 litres in and see if there is any leaking out lol then top up the extra couple of hundred mill if it needs it (3.1 litres I think it takes)

There is 3 holes iirc, one is breather on the top. One is drain plug on bottom, filling hole is at the front on its side a plastic butterfly, fill from this hole, when it starts coming out that's the amount required.
