Anyone know of any good laptop deals?

A netbook is not a laptop.

I'd avoid netbooks, they're a pain in the @rse. Go for a low-spec'd W7 laptop instead if browsing is all you're doing.

Too small, fiddly, easy to break, no disc drive, sh1t performance, terrible for typing, terrible for viewing ANYTHING.

small is good for her, she dont want a big laptop.

no need for a disk drive

i dont need good performance for web surfing

Let's be clear here, a computer doesn't just do ONE thing. If you want something that does, get an iPhone.

There's numerous other things a computer has to cope with, running average 40 services etc and the programs and browsers are much more memory/CPU intensive than they used to be.

But go ahead, enjoy your Atom performance (lol).

got my mum a netbook for her 50th, shes happy enough with it, all she does is go on the internet and its got 10 hours battery life, screens not great but you get what you pay for..

lol

its for my gf you know what females are like they want pretty and pink (so to speak)

is there somewhere you can go look at these dell outlet ones see what condition they are in?

i bought a scratch and dent one off dell outlet and i was expecting it to be fairly bad

it had a mark that looks like you had walked past it and rubbed your jeans on about 6mm of the edge and that was it (see photo)

not saying they are all like that but the certified refurbed ones would be like new i'd imagine

I don't understand why everyone's giving you grief mate tbh?

Bought me mum a samsung NC10 (i think it was) for Xmas, same boat as you, only wanted it for net surfing. It's been brilliant, used everyday and reliable performance, battery is awesome on it. No DVD/CD drive, but she doesn't need one..easy to type on, very light and decent screen too.

God knows why people are tellin u to buy an iphone?! FLOL, dearer, smaller and not what she needs?!

But each to their own :)

Jesus H Christ Magic, you need some anger counselling or something dude. Every post I see on here by you is just pure rage nowadays.

Dude if you really want a netbook I think aldi or somewhere were selling them for £70 the other day. Someone mentioned it in a thread on here.

Hey got an Acer Aspire one still sealed brand new in red for sale. Think they're £300 on play.com but looking to get £200 + p&p or can pick up if near

Got a samsung one coming soon but it's better spec so bit more

thanks for all the info chaps i will have a look.

i hear what people are saying that a full laptop is much better and can do lots more. but a full big laptop isnt required, so im looking at other options

just been to pc world and had a look at a few 10" notebooks, i think there pretty good.

probably gona get one from the dell outlet thing, anyone have any opinions?

Certified Refurbished or Scratch & Dent???

You'll have to buy a new one then. I know what you mean though with women.

Get something twice as good in decent nick, no it has to be new.

indeed, ill just try my luck and see what i get i suspect.

£150 for a mini 10" jobby, red cover.

the photo i posted is the only damage i had on my laptop from the dell outlet

and that was described as a scratch & dent

so i'd say a certified refurbed one would be like new

I'd avoid dell outlet personally, had very bad experiences with them recently and you'll find the internet is littered with horror stories about dell outlet and their customer service (which is no existent)
