Anyone know what this piece is called?

I have finally found the answer to my knocking problem (well I hope it is this). The problem now is that I now have no idea what the name of the part is that I need and where I can get it from. I've attached some links to Imageshack below to show the part I need. Its the splined tube that sits at the end of the O/S driveshaft that attaches it to the gearbox spline.

If anyone could tell me the name of it, the part number, where I could get one or any other advice that would be fantastic. I could get a second hand driveshaft if I can't get hold of the part by itself but it just seems a bit crazy if all I need is that one small part.

think its just a dust cover and I reused mine when I changed mine. cant see that causing any knocks though

It protects the gearbox oil seal from FOD entering or building up around the seal and damaging it... part is not available on its own i'm afraid and only comes as part of the driveshaft assembly.

What is the problem with yours, can't you knock it back on?

i bet the splines are mullered you can get them seperate on scenics not sure for clios

Thanks everyone but don't worry I've got one.

Renault only sell it as part of the whole driveshaft, but managed to find a place that makes them. Hope they are as good as they sound!
