I understand a normal ph2 f4r is running hydraulic rather than mech, is it easy / much work costs involved in changing over to Mechanical to enable me to use more aggressive cams?

for some reason i have in my mind that a ph 1 f4r might be mechanical? is this right please correct me

I am doing an NA build trying to reach 240bhp.
i have a ph1 and a ph2 engine.

cheers

wrong.

all 172's are hydro.

ive got 423's....they have never been used before to my knowledge so its kinda unknown how they will perform. All will be reveled when mine is finished/mapped.

to convert to mech is a costly thing to do. Some people say its easy to convert hydro lifters to solid but i have yet to see someone actually do it.

i know 422;s have been used for a 240bhp build. but like i said weighing up all the options

how far away is AP from completion / mapping your lump?

(off to research solid lifters!)

lol ive asked about this many times so search my posts.

the 423's could fail miserably with them peaking too high so actually making less power. I hope to overcome this by using adjustable vernier pulleys. This will mean i can alter the power band while mapping.

Mine will be done approx January :)
