For some reason a lot of people keep commenting on my car and saying how nice it is, then they ask about how much power it has and I tell them 75bhp and they say that it is not a lot for a clip sport then I have to tell them it is a 1.2, and they say that it looks like a sport.

Just wondering if any other non sport owners get this or is it just me.

Is it a rep?

If yes, then this will probably happen. If no, then the people who comment haven't seen a real RS clio in a while :p

  1.5 Clio Dynamique
my gf calls mine a sport because it has alloys, front fog lights and abit of a spoiler

Even though its a diesel!

and my old 1.2 8v used to get called a sport (by uneducated folk).............only due to the fact that i had a cliosport.net sticker in the window

Ive only had one person ask me because its got the front lights, fogs, spoiler and alloys. Pretty sure everyone else knows its not:rasp:

I went to a bootsale when i first had my clio 1.2, it had an RS Grille and was lowered slightly,

Bloke said to me "is that one'a them V6's" i said erm no mate its a non sport, still not clocking he said "bet its fast aye how much petrol you going through a week" erm about 40 quid, "blimey they aint half good on petrol then"

Deary me i hate Harlow bootsales.

My car is a sport.. But its not a RS.. Its branded Clio Campus Sport, 1.2 16V 75bhp planning on turning it in to a 172 rep when I can find some money after moving house lol, will be a slow progress..

well seems like then if its standard 1.2 your meeting bunch of either drunked up idiots or bunch of clueless pricks...as no rs looks standard 1.2 you must have a rep?

yep, had this the other day at the petrol station, the guy didn't say anything else when I said no. Must have felt a right idiot:eek:

  Megane 225 F1
I had some guy help me try and bump start the car the other week. He commented on how heavy it was for such a small engined car. I then told him about the 2.0 in the front lol.

I have an rs rear bumper, oz f1's, coilovers, but my mate though it was a sport purely on the cs.net sticker.

This is what i was thinking, in which case its an easy mistake for your mates to make:

I find this odd, as i drive a RenaultSport and 99% of people don't even know what one is.

FFS.

It is a Sport. All Dynamiques and Campus Sport et al ARE 'Sport' models.

The 2.0 Mk2's are not "Clio Sports" as everyone calls them on here. They're Renaultsport Clios.

i know that,

pretty sure there was a thread where everyone was saying that the only sport clios are the renault sport variety

when the average non cliosport.net user says you drive a "cliosport" but most of the time they will mean you drive a "renaultsport clio"(as you already know and are just trying to be awkward).

And if one more person says RS Clio I'm going to ban myself. Renault do not, have never, will never, and can never brand their cars RS.

R.S. is the best you'll ever get, and quite frankly it looks and sounds lame. They shouldn't have bothered with the attempt.
