Applicator pad or Micro Fiber?

Just got some mf cloths in the post, i useually use my mums 'e-cloth' which is very similar to these.

However, which is best to apply polish/wax with?

Also, would it be better to use MF to wash the car instead of cheapo wash cloths from halfrauds?

Applicator pads for polish fella.

Wash should be done with a wash mitt, sheepskin one. Halfords also sell these.

Have a look in the guides section for the cleaning guide.

^^ JD think he means actually using his hands lol i.e. no applicator pad or cloth etc lol!

Im still undecided if I prefer using my hands or an applicator. Like using my hands on the bonnet but my dodgy knees I struggle with the other bits (apart from the roof!)

Put it this ways ladies and gents, my MD gave me funny looks on Monday morning when I had blue hands that still had DodoJuice blue velvet on them ;)

It is less wasteful and you get a more even coat. But a lot of waxes don't work as well.

Most I would suggest using applicator pads.

(BTW, post before wasn't meant to sound like a dick Happycallis, re read it and sounds like I was! sos!)

Yes i used my hands... Didn't see any problems with it. Clean hands = no grit, and you can get your figers into different bulges etc.

Will look into Applicator pads for the polish.

Ne bother JD no offence taken. I didnt realise that some waxes you were supposed to apply by hand anyway :o

As stated by my more than Northern friend, there are no waxes that are supposed to be applied by hand, simpy choices and personal experience as with most detailing :)

Wouldn't Onyx by hand again, would with the blue velvet, mainly due to coverage and how the wax reacted.

Also, some cars are better by hand I find. The clio is most definitely not. The Aston and R8 with the wide open surfaces were quite "handy" . . . buh dum dum tisch.

Wax..most of them say on there but its generally 5 minutes. So do 1 panel then buff off.

Polish generally dries quicker and again work in panels and take it off afet a minute or so.

totally depends on the product, my Zymol Carbon says to not let dry, 1 min then off it comes
