Approx cost of fitting front wheel bearing?

  Iceberg Ph1
Have another quick question to anyone who has maybe an idea..

What would I expect to pay for supply and fitting of a front wheel bearing to my Ph1 172? I've had a quote already, so just wish to compare to anyone perhaps having had one done recently?

Rears I would just replace the discs with prefitted ones so thats no biggy..

Cheers peeps!

buy the part from a factor and take it to an indepent garage, you'll save ££'s. most indy garages are about £40 - £50 an hour for labour. dealers rip off people for £100 + per hour - some dealers near me are creeping towards £150..

I paid 85 fitted for a rear wheels bearing on mine I think it was. Haven't seen your car around mate.

I had a rear bearing fitted before the car was purchased, was £65 iirc on the receipt I got.. Yeah I live just down the road, infact I pass through Sidcup/Orpington a lot haha.. You know my mate Rob though? TheEVilGiraffe?

The rear is a much easier job than the front. I should think the part is a chunk cheaper too.

Yeah the rear is less hassle as the bearing is fitted to the disc, then fronts are fitted into the carrier, more work!

Yeah i bought the dual optics off of him a week or so ago mate.

There is a renault specialist in sidcup that's quite good, one of the guys that works there has a 172, might be worth giving them a call?

Yeah I see your thread about having them fitted, look smart, mine are in need of a clean up, but can't be arsed at the moment!

I think I may know the one you are on about.. My manger at work mentioned a place in Sidcup, apparently the owner use to have the fastest Ren 5 in the UK? Same guys?

Whats their details if you have them mate, maybe worth a call to see. cheers

pricey, but i guess some places have a min 1 hour charge (does take a little while to put it on the ramp etc) just did one on my 205 gti (same as a drum rear clio!!) and it was a 20 minute job all in
