Are centre cap keys all the same ?

I was wandering are all the Centre cap keys (the black ones with 3 prongs on the end of them) for Renault Centre Caps the same ?

As i've just fitted a set of locking nuts incase they are, and as my car never came with any :dapprove: :dapprove:

The centre caps i'm going on about are the ones on the Renault fited 5 spoke alloys wheels that were fitted to 172FF models and lower end clio models

although to be 100% fair to you im not sure across the renault range, but on vauxhals etc that also use them there are quite a few variations

Like ditz says , the vauxhall ones are different , they're numbered . Seems pretty pointless if all the Renault ones are the same , lol .I'm sure even Renault aren't that stupid . Are they ?? :quiet:

The answer is yes. the black plastic key with 3 prongs is the same on all the centre caps.

they sure can, forgot my key and the tyre place had them off in 30secs with some pliers.... bit worrying really.

thats why i replaced the Renault bolt with some 'aftermarket' bolts from the DIY shop, only come off with a socket set now.

yea i just got the correct mm bolt size to match the standard bolt size - new ones are a fraction to wide but this just makes them harder to get off:evil:

pretty much like that - need a size 9 socket i think, they also look smarter with a alloy head over the black plastic standard.

It's only a plastic cap, just cosmetic.

It loks like a random bolt has just been screwed in place.
