are clios made out of tin!!

all i ever seem to see is clios with loads of car park prangs in them! scared to park mine within 10 metres of anything else! dont see other models covered in them, just clios for some reason!

But its the tin foil effect that makes it so light, which in turn makes it such a good car to drive, if it had a more "solid" feel it would lose its fun factor.

172/182s are still better than the Vee tho. 4k miles and the front end is peppered ... mostly small but two big b*****ds too. Show up white due to the fibre glass

Theyre made out of pressed sheet steel just like the vast majority of cars. Ive been involved in several BIW (body in white) developments over the years (my firm builds bodyshops) - Im involved in welding the cars together (robot programmer/engineer) and I cant say that the exterior panels are any thicker from one car to the next.

Im currently working on a massive project for a new luxury car that I cant mention (released Q4 2006), and the skin pressings are no thicker than any other car Ive worked on.

well ive pciked up one stone chip in 21k miles, and with the majority being on fast a and b roads i dont think thats too bad at all.

I do find it scratches easily, well not that i take a sharp object to it and see how easily it scratches but its picked up a fair few from careless f**kers walking past it
