Are components AMP'd?

Iv been looking at some 13cm coms for my front doors, and they come with a little box with them, does this amp the speakers and take the strain off the HU? if so how do u power these little amps ?

the little box is the crossover which sorts the sound signals and sends them to the relevant speakers trebble/mid/bass

They do not need any power

Decent compsonents will run better off an amp... but as above... its a crossover.

If you dont run enough power through your front components... they wont sound as good as they should... and they are the most important part of the car sound system.
