Are grooved discs supposed to make a whirring noise?

  172 FF
I have some Brembo Max discs using standard Renault Ferrodo pads atm.
When I am driving home & get near my house there are loads of speed bumps so I am breaking quite a lot & I can hear a whirring noise which sounds like pads rubbing on the discs. The noise starts to fade away after a few seconds but then I'm at another speed bump & pressing the break again.

I had EBC Red stuff to start with & they really made a lot of noise when they got warm so I swapped back to the standard Renault pads to be rid of the noise but just wondered if this whirring thing is normal.

Probably. My yellows are nosiey when hot. It doesn't bother me.

Previous owner fitted drilled and grooved discs which I am not a fan of.

Standard discs are fine with the right pad.

Mine are the same, had the disc 4 weeks, going to change back to plain ones as it is really getting on my nerves.

See to be honest are there any advantages using drilled/grooved discs unless your using better/uprated callipers?

The 400 BHP Evo's run plain discs, i'm sure they will be fine on a Clio!!
