Are most 172 parts interchangable ?

Car  Suzuki Swift Gti
Hi there,
I am an Aussie looking to buy a Phase 1 172 Cup. Only 85 of this model were released in Australia. I am a bit worried about parts availability, so I am wondering if 172 cup share the same engine/gearbox and related parts, to regular 172.

Theres no such thing as a Ph1 172 Cup. But as you're in Australia it could be what we call something else here.

But if its the Mk2 172 Cup, then all the parts are the same as the normal 172.

It is a 2001 model. Pre-facelift. But a Cup version. Most of the cars here are regular facelift Clios, so if parts are the same, great.

Incorrect.

Wheels are a lower offset.

Alternator setup is different.

Loom is different.

Gearbox is different - It takes the reading from the 'box due to lack of ABS/ABS rings that the normal 172 uses.

Headlights/levelling are all different (manual)

Windscreen is not heat-reflective.

Amonst other things.

Any pictures of the car? 172 Cups were Ph2.

Thats not a Cup in this country.

So they are all the same. Thats a Ph1 172.

That is what I am trying to say. Only 85 were delivered to Australia.
The picture is a placard that sits above the windscreen/roof lining.

i guess they are just the same as out 172 but because they were only in small numbers overthere they called them the cup?

Maybe it's just a normal ph1 172, but Australia only recieved 85 of them? So they called them a Cup and gave them a plaque?

Do you have normal ph1 172's over there? I know you have ph2 172 and 182s.

The only Phase 1's I have seen here all have the Cup placard. I prefer the look of the Phase 1's but am worried that if they aren't interchangeable with Phase 2's, in relation to parts, there will be a limited supply of parts here in Oz.

most ph2 parts will be different, apart from engine stuff, all bodywork is different, iirc the suspension is different

but parts you would need like brakes etc are the same
