Are Short Shifter kits worth buying?

As the title says are they worth buying? If so whats the best out there? Or is it worth just buying the link?

I bought one from a guy on here, 'yanoo'. Haven't had it fitted yet but plenty of others have and rave about the kit. so in a word yes. Oh and do a search on his name and have a read of the thread

Buying the link is not worth in itself IMO. Ok, the shift throw will be shorter but the awfull ball joint housing (and other bits in the gear linkage that can cause huge play) won't be replaced, resulting a sloppy (but shorter) shift throw.
