Are these discs ok?

Picked up a brake upgrade the other day and was slightly worried about the discs. They are smooth and are basically new thickness, just a bit of flaking. Will these still be alright to use?

Just surface rust. If you notice when you buy new discs they are in plastic with a kind of oil on them. If they didn’t come like this then they’d be rusted too. Nothing to worry about

To me it looks like the shiny silver part of the coating has actually come off, that's why i was worried.

as long as the disc is not pitted with the rust then it will sweap clean with some good use.

I got some better pictures of the disc.

Not worried about the first picture as that's just surface.

This second one looks a bit worse.

Still look fine to me mate.

If you’re really worried about it can you get your money back? If not just whack them on, can guarantee that’ll all come off

If your worried put some scotchbrite pad over them first.

But the first heavy brake application will clean that right up no dramas

If you think they look bad, look at the ones on your car the morning after you’ve washed it in winter.
