Are these JBL speakers any good?

They are cheap and probably better than the standard ones, worth the upgrade?

they should be better than standard yes, id advise buying a dynamat speaker kit for when you fit them, it really is worth it

Bit too tight to buy dynamat, anything else that can be used instead? I have a lot of rubber sort of sheeting here, will that do the same job?

possibly i dont know, but really, dynamat is worth way more than its cost when it comes to area directly around the speaker, you will get more than a tenners worth of extra sound quality from your speakers
